| 中世紀及文藝復興時代系列演講－「宮庭愛情�遙P歐洲中世紀文學研究的現代性 |
| 主講人:李耀宗博士 李耀宗博士是美國哥倫比亞大學的文學博士，主修英國中世紀文學和比較文學，但身為一名成長在東方的學者，卻已學通中世紀文學研究所需要的中古英語與法語，李博士曾經應邀在北京大學西語系任教，並於香港城市大學跨文學研究中心擔任研究員。李博士的著作中最令人激賞的是2008年由允晨出版社所出版的《諸神的黎明與歐洲詩歌的新開始》，書中不僅旁徵博引，敘述中古時代詩歌的源流與發展，而且他試著找尋第一手文獻資料，去解讀並翻譯文本、歷史資料和批評，並歸納了歐洲詩歌的源流。此一研究模式，已突破過去立足於宗教觀點的詩歌批評，更修正了以地中海為中心的文化地理觀點，對於中世紀文學研究有相當的貢獻。

| 測繪世界：旅行、移居與疆界跨越 |
|
遷移(migration)是人文史上不斷重演的人類移居現象，從遠古人類逐水草而居，到歷史上的戰爭及疾病曾經造成人類史上的流動問題，以及閩客族群至台灣及東南亞發展以及十九世紀至美洲的華工問題，這些都是人類文明史上不容忽視的課題。在西方歷史上的大航海時代，因為人類競爭，在尋求自然資源的趨使下，遷移成為必然的結果。但黑奴的運送和歐洲人前往美洲的發展，其中遷徙所涉及的議題繁多：遷徙、移居的社會問題、文化問題、內心的糾葛和遷徙所涉及的社區經營與經濟面向都是學術界應認真探討的課題。在所有人類移居的原因中，旅行大概是最令人玩味的個人記憶；旅行可以塑造心境與視野的轉變，也構成家鄉與異鄉的對比。會議子題包括海洋文化、移民、離散、認同與旅行等。歡迎歷史、中外文學、臺灣文學及、與語言學及民族學等各界學者踴躍投稿。意者請

| Migration is one of the most relevant phenomena of contemporary times and thus a prominent topic of research in the humanities and the social sciences in recent years. Migration is a result among other reasons of political persecution, economical pressures, or the pursuit of opportunities. The inquiry into aspects of migration is to study the history of human experiences from a variety of perspectives such as ethnicity, race, nation, and society. The Center for the Humanities at National Sun Yat-sen University conducts and promotes research on migration, race, and ethnicity and its 2009 conference Mapping the World: Migration and Border-crossing will be held on October 31 and November 1, 2009. Topics of interest for the conference include migration and cityscapes; border and border crossing; the politics of frontiers; cultural assimilation and the politics of language; transformations of languages and dialects; language and nationhood; representations of the (im)migrant in literature and media; (im)migration and diaspora; travel and exploration; maritime culture, literature, and the arts; and nationalism, post-nationalism, and the (im)migrant.
